20 Something's (When Life Gets Real)

Singer SZA had a song off her debut album CTRL called 20 some thing's. There is a line where she sings "Honesty hurts when you're gettin' older" which really got me to thinking. I will be turning 26 years old in September. My 20s have been a life assessment for me.  I moved out at 18 to attend college and life really hit home for me. I had a daughter at age 21 who I have to provide for and protect. In our 20 some thing's, you will learn what being a true adult means.  When we were kids we wished upon a star to become a grown up.  Now we wish we could go back in time when we didn't have bills,  taxes, and people breaking our hearts with no empathy what so ever. Those fairy tale books we read as kids,  thinking life was one big magical place, Ha,  not so much anymore.  Life is savage. Sza also sings "Hopin' my 20 somethings won't end Hopin' to keep the rest of my friends Prayin' the 20 somethings don't kill me.  Do you also remember when you were in your teens you thought that crew of yours would be with you for a lifetime.. Now looking back you ask yourself how many of those friends are still your friends? You are either the friend who couldn't keep up,  or you are the friend who grown,  and matured and had to let the past go.

Our 20 somethings are a test run, 10 years long for us to fu*k up,  make mistakes,  learn from them and better ourselves. No 20 something year old knows everything. Look honey,  you may think you do,  but you don't.  All the crap I have experience at age 25 I still have more to experience and learn from. You have to live a little to understand the big picture of this thing called life.  In a perfect world some 20 year olds have found their true love,  married and have succeeded in their career.  The rest of us are working towards making a statement in life for ourselves. Trying to figure out exactly what the hell we even want to do and how to do it.  The struggle is real. Working odd jobs,  or working at a job that may bring in good money but it's torture having to go to a job you truly don't give a fu*k about  Truthfully,  so many of us 20 something year olds have managed to snag great jobs but hate doing it.  This is the time for us to work towards our goals. Fast cash,  but not cool helping a billionaire make more billions.  You won't accomplish anything if you don't put effort into it.  It is not hard to become discourage in our 20s.  Let's keep it real,  alot of us lack ambition.  We feel something should be given to us and the world should know and see our talent.  But Reality Replies Back.....

Dating is a struggle in our 20s. No one takes love serious anymore.  Side chicks and side dudes are being glorified. People are having kids outside marriage or have no thought of building a family and having a solid foundation.  Men don't court women anymore because we offer all our goods up for free without making him earn us.  There is no respect in dating anymore.  So if we as young women in our 20s don't respect ourselves,  our morals,  our body or have standards, how can we expect a man to respect us?  We should date as much as possible.  How can you know your type if you haven't actually took time to date.  Get to know men all while getting to know who you are.  Big difference in dating,  and thotting.

Still we are going to be alright.  We have made it this far.  Things will get tough,  you may cry and feel like your life is so hard and stressful you hate life.  But come back and read this post.  Every time you make a mistake learn from it.  Ask yourself,  "Why is this happening to me". Also let love find you during these years. The best love comes unexpected.  Marriage is not going anywhere.. Get to know exactly who you are before committing to someone else's life.  Remember marriage is a partnership,  their baggage and struggles becomes yours added to what you already had.  Accomplish things in life, Go to college,  travel,  start a career of your own. This is our starting line,  let's give ourselves a head start to the finishing line.

Pastel Hair Trend

________________________________________________________________
Most trends can becoming tiring.  But the pastel hair trend is one I just love.  Soft colors dyed on hair weave or if you're are really bold your natural hair.  It is a unique trend that lots of hair stylist are attempting on their clients.
Holographic hair is actually the correct term for this hair trend.  But the results are pastel colors. The method used is called Hand pressing, which paints different patterns on a sheet of Plexiglas with hair dye.  Then the dye is placed onto the hair.  The colors give a unicorn type cotton candy color. Instead of strong bold colors the colors appear softer and tent.  Check out some of the stars rocking this hair color trend. Are you bold enough to try it?

Karma Is A B*tch

Have you ever heard the saying  "Karma's A B*tch before? What comes around goes around is a saying people use that means what negativity you put out will come back to you.  I am not a scientists or psychology major at all.  I do believe Karma is possible just from my own experiences and watching others. A great example would be stealing money from someone only to lose it right after.  That is karma.  You steal from someone and then someone steals from you.  Karma is strong and normally it will catch up to you.

There are a lot of lucky people out there.  I believe if you do good,  good things will come to you.  Living a positive life is a choice and some people feel they never have good karma, even when they do good things.  Karma works fast and sometimes it works slow.  But future happiness is all about the good you put in the universe. Alot of countries give their own definition of Karma and what it stands for.  The main thing we all can agree on is that, Karma is hits you hard.

There are women who sleep with married men or taken men and have no care in the world or remorse. They think it's a game  and it's funny.  Karma Is A Big B*tch.  So always remember you lose them how you get them.

"I remember at age 20 I was in a 4 year relationship age 17-20. I remember basically finding out he was cheating on me and he didn't care If I found out and the girl he cheated with did not neither. I was pregnant at the time and I had a miserable pregnancy. I cried many nights,  I was depressed. I had basically been lied to and betrayed and harassed on my phone by the girl he cheated with.  Being pregnant you can't defend yourself much. I kept alot of it to myself and didn't tell friends or family.  Funny she thought she was popping because she supposedly took my man.  I can recall her saying "He Love Me Bitch". But 2 years after that breakup I got a message on Face book which I have to this day of her apologizing for what she did and how everything he put me through,  he is now putting her through. "

I don't wish harm to anyone and ladies you should not neither.  But remember to pray,  stay positive and let Karma take care your battles. I understand too that Karma takes to long sometimes lol.  You may want to seek revenge on the people who did you wrong yourself. But trust me girls,  Negative,  evil people always get a taste of their own medicine. Stay beautiful,  stay strong and keep it pushing.

New Music Fridays-Jay Z 4:44

Such a great friday. The king Jay Z has released his his newest album 4:44 which twitter believe is a response to his wife album Lemonade. On the first track called Kill Jay, he says "He Let The Baddest Girl Get Away, Eric Bennet"  This line is in ref to Eric Bennett who use to date Halle Berry.

The album in my opinion is classic, Jay album. Dope beats and just spiting realness. Right now you can only get album on on Tidal and sprint customers get 3 months free. You get all exclusives of Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna and Beyonce. So get tidal and spend your week listening to the new Jay album.

Upgrade Your Standards!

Baby let me upgrade you? No I think we as women should upgrade our standards. Life is all about growth. So grow your taste in men as well. Now for young girls in their teens may not understand what upgrading your standards are. For one they are still living with their parents watching Disney and eating hot Cheetos as lunch. When you are 16 you are lucky to even date a guy who has his driver license. You aren't 16 any more babe. Those standards you had for yourself at 16 should not be the same when you are 25 and up. You are a grown ass woman now. Bills, responsibilities and things going in life. You have upgraded in life so the men you date should not be any different.

__________________________________________________________

  • A man who has a job is very important. He should have some source of income. Unless he was born rich he needs to be able to file his taxes at the end of the year. The main reason we need a man who has a career is because it is not our job to take care grown men. Dating a rich man is not realistic but he needs to be independent. He should be able to pay his own bills, and have his own gas money, That's if he has a car.
  • It is understandable that everyone can't afford a car, but you are not a Uber. You can not always be his Lyft when he is in need of a ride. If he doesn't have a car he should be hopefully looking for one, unless he can afford to pay for a driver. Trust me, those date nights when you're the designated driver who has to get in your vehicle, and use our gas to pick him up, will become tiring. My mom once told me years ago, if there is a emergency and you need help in the middle of the night, he should be able to get in his car to come help you. The bus doesn't run after midnight.
  • Then you have the "Couch Crasher." If he is always sleeping at his fellas house, or his family members homes, that is a serious downgrade, He needs to have his own place that he can call home. Once he gets comfortable with you, he will be bringing a suitcase full of his items to your house and he will never leave. Ha! (That was hilarious) As grown women we don't have time for kiddie games. Dinner at his house and dinner at your house is how its suppose to be. Or consider privacy. Room mates are cool, for the moment, not a lifetime.
  • You are a woman, so as women those little boy antics are for little girls. If a man wants to get to know us, or meet up he should be inviting us for coffee or a date. Netflix and chill is cool if that's all you want from him. In the dating world the impression you give him is what he is going to have. You can't meet him and invite him over to have sex, but a week later you tell him he needs to take you on a date. Excuse me b****? That is going to be his response if he's a savage. We should be wanting a man with goals, and respect for himself and us as women, He knows what he wants and won't waste our time. Upgrade your standards is so important. We have to know our worth and stop settling. It is okay to tell him "You're Are Not For Me."  Grown men are already on that type of mentality . You are not a gold digger for upgrading your standards. You are a woman who wants to be treated like a grown woman and not a little girl.

Hope you enjoyed this post. Repost, email, or tag a friend who needs to read this and upgrade her standards when it comes to dating. Oh and don't forget to subscribe. Check out more great post below.
