Kayla Got The Recipe - Easy Shrimp Fried Rice

Buying good shrimp fried rice can be hard to find unless you visit China. Lets be real spending 8-9 bucks for fried rice at the local restaurant adds up. You tell them no bean sprouts but they still do it. Or maybe the shrimp are tiny and you only get 8. I'm not Chinese but sometimes I want to try my favorite dishes at home. I have been making my own fried rice recipes for years. Finally I have the perfect pick.

Ingredients
  • Left over white rice
  • Raw shrimp
  • Sun bird fried rice seasoning
  • 2 eggs
  • White Onions, green onions, or veggies of your choice.
  • Canola oil or rice bran oil
  • Sesame oil
  • Soy Sauce
  1. For one you will need a non stick pan. Using a pan that sticks will ruin this dish completely.
  2. I prefer large raw shrimp. Season with pepper, Lawry's seasoning and salt.
  3. Use oil to saute shrimp. I save bacon grease to saute my shrimp or you can use butter or olive oil.
  4.  After shrimp are done fry your 2 eggs and set aside.
  5. Next Saute your green onions, white onions and your veggies. I hate hard veggies.
  6. Once they are almost soft add 3 table spoons of oil and your cold rice to the pan. ( use left over rice so it frys better)
  7. Spread rice over  pan and let cook for 2-3 mins then flip rice and let other side cook. Once it starts to brown you know you are doing right.
  8. Next add 2-3 tablespoon of soy sauce and 1 teaspoon of sesame oil. Also for seasoning I use Sunbird fried rice seasoning. You can find this at walmart or Kroger's international lane.
  9. Only use half the package for a small amount as I did. For a bigger amount use entire package.
  10. Let cook for 1 min then add saute veggies, shrimp and egg. Stir it all together and let cook for amount of time you prefer. I let it all cook for 4 mins on low heat.
  11. If you like spice add some red pepper flakes.
  12. Eat up!
If you would like to use other meats as in chicken, beef, or pork best to cook before adding to rice. Without meat sautee your veggies and add to rice. For the fried rice seasoning walmart always has them for a buck. This is a favorite I created by reading online but adding my own twist. No I am clearly not asian but this is a quick dish for dinner.
